The second component is the indoor unit which is referred to as the air handling unit, which is found mounted high up a central main wall, or even possibly suspended from the ceiling in some cases.
The indoor unit is connected to the outdoor unit by what is called a refrigerant line that permits efficient air conditioning to come directly from the heat pump.
